The presentation of the BRICS youth summit took place at the RUSSIA EXPO. This year for the first time the summit will be held in an updated lineup: with five new participants - Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The summit will gather more than 200 participants. The details of the BRICS Youth Summit, which will be held from July 22 to 26 in Ulyanovsk, were revealed at a presentation at the RUSSIA EXPO. Our country will chair BRICS in 2024.

According to Diana Kovela, Program Director of the BRICS-2024 Youth Summit, the architecture of the summit will be based on five thematic tracks: education and training; science, technology and innovation; volunteerism; entrepreneurship; sports and healthy lifestyles of young people. In addition, the summit will traditionally host a meeting of BRICS ministers or leaders who are responsible for the implementation of youth policy.

"The BRICS youth agenda is characterized by several pillars. First of all – it is the key event of the year. Every year, the country holding the BRICS presidency holds a youth summit and youth ministers' meetings. As for our main approaches in the development of the youth agenda: first of all, consistency is very important for us. It is necessary to hold events and initiate new projects not only within the framework of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship, but also from year to year," emphasized Valeria Chernogorodova, Head of the International Activities Division of the Youth Projects and Programs Directorate of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).

The BRICS Youth Summit is a platform for dialogue between delegates of the member countries striving to strengthen security in the conditions of globalization, to develop in a multipolar world. "Our region has a great experience in implementing such projects – last year we held the BRICS Youth Camp, we also have experience in organizing the Volga-Yangtze Youth Forum. Ulyanovsk universities have an international direction, so it is certainly a great experience for the young people to take part in such a large event," said Artem Miroshnikov, Minister for Youth Development of the Ulyanovsk region.
